In partnership with Clinton Foundation's Climate Change Initiative, the Green Belt Movement facilitated a week-long community exchange visit in Ethiopia on October 4, 2015 to October 10, 2015.

10 members of the community from Kipipiri Constituency, Nyandarua County, visited different land restoration, clean energy and forest management projects in Hawassa, Goba and Bale regions in Ethiopia.

Through this exchange visit, the community members shared their experiences on reforestation and watershed protection with the Ethiopian people as well as learning new practices to better improve their projects back home.

It was a very educative and eventful week for the team during the exchange visit. Having visited different environmental restoration sites in Hawassa, Addis Ababa and Sebele, the team returned home with new knowledge and empowerment.

We bade farewell to Addis, taking with us the lessons of a people working hard to restore the environment and improve their livelihoods, just like we are.

We appreciate the partnership with Clinton Foundation's Climate Change Initiative and the hospitality of SOS SAHEL Ethiopia.
