There are lots of ways you can be part of the Green Belt Movement's work. You can Be a Hummingbird by planting a tree in your neighborhood or working on conservation issues locally. You can download teaching materials or read Professor Maathai's books to educate yourself and others on the importance of keeping our planet green. You can help fund our projects in Kenya to lessen the effects of global warming. If your business wishes to partner with GBM, you can do that, too. However you choose to help, we hope you'll keep in touch and, as Professor Maathai used to say: do the best you can!

Keep Wangari Maathai’s legacy alive by planting trees and getting involved in your own community. Learn more about this campaign and be sure to mark your trees on our interactive map!
The ongoing support of individuals, like you, makes it possible for the Green Belt Movement to continue its core work of planting trees, protecting forests, and empowering communities. Your donation helps to conserve soil and watersheds, to sustain rural community’s livelihoods, and build resilience to climate change.
Visit and experience the Green Belt Movement in Kenya through one of our eye-opening GBM Safaris, or spend a few nights in Nairobi at the official Green Belt Movement training center.
