Be part of the movement
There are many ways to get involved with the Green Belt Movement’s work. You can Be a Hummingbird by planting a tree in your neighborhood or by taking part in local conservation efforts. You can read Professor Wangari Maathai’s books to educate yourself and others about the importance of keeping our planet green. Another way to contribute is by supporting our projects in Kenya, which help reduce the effects of global warming. If your organization is interested in making a difference, you can partner with GBM as well. However you choose to help, we hope you will stay connected, and as Professor Maathai always said, do the best you can!
The ongoing support of individuals, like you, makes it possible for the Green Belt Movement to continue its core work of engaging women in planting trees, protecting critical forests & watersheds, and empowering communities. Your support helps to conserve soil and ensure food security, to sustain rural community’s livelihoods, and build resilience to climate change. It also enables us to develop the tools to reach out and inspire people in Kenya, and around the world to take action in support of good governance, environmental sustainability, and the expansion of democratic space. We hope you will invest in our work as we transform lives.
Our organization is dedicated to protecting and preserving the natural world through education, advocacy, and action. We believe that everyone can make a difference, and we welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds.
By volunteering with us, you will gain valuable experience, meet new people, and make a positive impact on the environment. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing that you are contributing to a worthy cause.
Join us today and become a part of our community of dedicated environmentalists. Together, we can make a difference and create a better world for all.
