Brideswell Hall St. Bride Foundation Bride Lane – Fleet Street London EC4Y 8EQ

Climate Wise Women is a project that brings the powerful narratives of grassroots women activists to public view through a speaking tour that will eventually cover the globe. In April 2011, the Climate Wise Women will travel to Europe for speaking events in Dublin, London and Hamburg on the issue of Connecting the Global to Local on Climate Change. Constance Okollet, Chairperson for the Osukuru United Women’s Network in Easte...rn Uganda, and Ursula Rakova, Executive Director for Tulele Peisa, from the Carteret Islands in Papua New Guinea, will speak to audiences in the company of European women leaders, connecting the dots between seemingly remote climate occurrences with the daily realities of the global community.

In London, guest panelists will include Ruth Bond, Chair of the National Federation of Women's Institutes and Dr. Victoria Johnson, Head of the Climate Change and Energy Programme at nef (new economics foundation). Francesca de Gasparis, Director of the Green Belt Movement Europe Office, will moderate the discussion which will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

The panel discussion is free and open to the public, although pre-booking is suggested.
