September 21st in New York City: The Green Belt Movement & Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and environmental studies, University of Nairobi will be joining the Peoples’ Climate March - the largest climate march in history - two days before heads of state of the world’s nations will meet for a Climate Summit at the United Nations.
September 11th-12th, 2014: Ms. Wanjira Mathai, The Green Belt Movement Chairperson and Project Director of the wPOWER Hub at the Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and environmental studies, University of Nairobi will be speaking at the Roosevelt Institute's Women and Girls Rising Conference in New York.
The meeting was convened by the world resources institute (WRI) a key partner together with The Green Belt Movement (GBM) and CCI in BMU project. This was a consultative workshop bringing together key stakeholders to share ideas geared towards generating a national landscape restoration potential map for Kenya, at Pan Afric Hotel, Nairobi Kenya.
