Wangari Maathai


Wangari Maathai is the founder of the Green Belt Movement, an environmentalist, a civil society and women's rights activist, and a parliamentarian. The ideas presented in her most recent book, The Challenge for Africa, are informed by her work as an activist with a vision for peace and good governance.
