Ambassador Robert Godec joins us in commemorating Garissa University terror attack victims and survivors
In support of the peace park we initiated honoring the victims and survivors of the Garissa University terrorist attack, the US Ambassador to Kenya H.E Robert Godec this afternoon planted his peace tree at the park.
The brief event was graced by the Chair of our Board, members of the Green Belt Movement Board, our Executive Director, the Vice Chancellor University of Nairobi and representatives from the Wangari Maathai Institute of Peace and Environmental Studies.
In May this year, the Green Belt Movement launched the peace park by planting 148 trees, one for each of the victims of the infamous attack that took place one year ago.
By planting trees, we spread the message of peace and healing.
